A little behind the scenes from the shop today.

Framing going together for another Great American Press Box system, along with some custom aluminum fabrication for a repeat customer.

Started with 6 units. They liked the quality enough to come back with another 24.

A lot of people will tell you they believe in your vision.

Very few will pack up their life and move across the country to help build it.

Miller did.

Over the years, he’s become a lot more than an employee.

He’s become family.

The kind of person you can call when things get difficult.

The kind of person you know will show up.

The kind of person who doesn’t care whose job it is, only that it gets done.

Whether it’s long days in the shop, late nights on the road, or projects hundreds of miles from home, Miller is always willing to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.

The bigger the challenge, the harder he seems to work.

The man literally worked himself into dehydration on the last project and still wanted to keep going.

Some people work for a paycheck.

Some people buy into a mission.

Miller bought in.

And North Carolina Welding is better because of it.

The older I get, the more I realize that skill can be taught.

Character can’t.

Chris has both.

More than 25 years in the welding and fabrication industry, and he’s probably forgotten more than I’ll ever know.

What I respect most isn’t the skill.

It’s the ownership.

The willingness to step up, solve problems, mentor younger guys, and treat the success of the team like it’s his own.

As we work to create jobs, opportunities, and invest in our community, it takes people like Chris to help turn those ideas into reality.

The real deal.

Most of the people we work with will never meet Andrea.

They’ll see the projects.

They’ll see the welders.

They’ll see the trucks.

They’ll see the bleachers.

What they won’t see are the thousands of details that have to happen behind the scenes before any of those things become reality.

Payroll.

Hotels.

Insurance.

Inventory.

Invoices.

Paperwork.

Flight changes.

Last-minute emergencies.

And somehow keeping track of where everybody is supposed to be while the rest of us are scattered across the country.

The truth is, companies don’t run on social media posts and welding pictures.

They run on good people who show up every day and handle the responsibilities nobody else wants.

Mom has been doing exactly that for years.

She’s saved us from more mistakes than we’ll ever know, solved more problems than she’ll ever get credit for, and somehow manages to keep this circus moving forward.

Legend says she can remember spreadsheet information without opening Excel, find missing receipts that were “definitely turned in,” and spend two hours on hold with customer service without losing her mind.

I’m not sure if any of that’s true.

But I wouldn’t bet against her.

We’re grateful for everything she does, and North Carolina Welding wouldn’t be what it is today without her.

The one who somehow knows a guy, has a solution, or owns the equipment needed to get it done.

Builder. Entrepreneur. Industrial Cowboy.

If there’s a grandstand, restaurant, race track, business, or random building project somewhere in the background, there’s a decent chance Charles had something to do with it.
