Meet this year’s Honors College desk workers! These are the faces that greet you when you come into the Advising Suite! They’re all truly wonderful people and have a wealth of knowledge to share. We wouldn’t know what to do without them. Come by and say hi!

“Wait, THAT counts as a Cocurricular Experience??” If we had a nickel for every time a student was surprised to learn they had already earned Honors Units without even realizing it… we’d have SO! MANY! NICKELS!

AND! In addition to the pre-approved experiences we have available you can also submit your own experience for review. There are SO many ways to get your Honors Units done, it just boggles the mind…

Have any questions? Contact an advisor at any time. We are here to help you succeed!

*Some of these experiences do come with caveats (ex. If your experience with the Atkins or Rines Funds are fulfilling major requirements they won’t also earn Honors Units) so make sure you check the “Browse Cocurricular Experiences” button on your Toolbox or speak to an advisor before updating your HUDD!

Each August, a small group of first year honors students embark on our annual Honors Outdoor Orientation Trip, HOOT! This 3 day, 2 night program allows students to make meaningful connections with other honors students, learn outdoor skills, and complete new challenges, all at the UNH Browne Center. If you like camping, ropes courses, s’mores, and meeting new people, this is the program for you! We look forward to seeing you next year! HOOTIES OUT 💙🦉🤍

Yesterday we kicked off the 2026 Hamel Retreat by welcoming our newest class of Hamel Scholars and engaging in some fun ice-breakers on the Fairchild Lawn with the help of Kiley and Joey from Student Engagement & Belonging! We are so happy to welcome you all to our community and be your home away from home. What a great group of awesome students!

The dreary weather outside couldn’t dim the brightness in the Huddleston Ballroom last night as we gathered together with our Honors College graduates, their families, faculty, advisors, and staff to toast all they’ve accomplished and their achievements yet to come.

We were graced with touching and inspiring toasts from President Chilton, Honors College Director Catherine Peebles, our 2026 Honors Alumni Award winner Joe Pace, and Honors Assistant Director Andrew Ferris.

Three impressively talented students from the Music Department, Joshua Keen, Luke Duquette, and Adam Cooper comprised a jazz trio who graced us with beautiful music as the grads received their graduation stoles and cords and read letters they had written to themselves as they began their UNH journeys.

We are all so proud of you, our graduates of the Hamel Honors and Scholars College. Go out there and show the world what you’ve shown us!
