Please use this link to lookup and contact your state senator to ask them to support House Bill 1737. This legislation would allow Virginia nurse practitioners with at least two years of experience in their speciality to practice independently to the full scope of our training and education. HB 1737 was passed by the House last week and sent to the Senate where it was referred to committee. Please contact your state senator today to request their support for HB 1737 and help nurse practitioners continue providing quality, affordable healthcare to Virginians.

Yesterday the House Health, Welfare and Institutions Committee heard HB 1737, which would reduce the clinical experience needed for autonomous practice from five to two years.
