Beautiful things cross the border everyday. This past Thursday, it was Colombian Flowers.

LASO members spent Valentine's Day surprising workers on campus with bouquets of flowers that traveled from the fields of Antioquia, Colombia, to Bouquet Collections in Miami, to RDU, to Duke's West Campus.

We hope this serves as a friendly reminder to cross borders everyday through small acts of kindness. They can go a long way.

Thank you to Duke's workers for all that you do, and thank you to Natalia Mesa and her family for making this possible.

In the recent aftermath of the disasters in both Mexico and Puerto Rico, three student organizations have come together to create an awareness campaign called . Desarrolla, DBA and LASO are working to spread the message and forms of donation for those affected.

Mexico has been recently struck by two earthquakes of devastating magnitudes. With more than 250 fatalities and thousands without homes, power, and basic necessities, Mexico needs our help! Please donate to any of these funds and organizations!

Information for Puerto Rico:
Puerto Rico was struck yesterday by Hurricane Maria, a magnitude 4 storm that engulfed the island in wreckage. 100% of the island is without power and in some areas, that were hit first 80% of the homes have been destroyed. Flashflood alerts and a curfew have been implemented. Puerto Rico had also been serving as a refuge for other Caribbean islands in the aftermath of Irma.
