Eta Sigma Gamma-Gamma Phi NCCU Eta Sigma Gamma-Gamma Phi Chapter The idea for a national honorary for health education professionals was conceived in the minds of three individuals, Warren E.

Since its inception in 1967, Eta Sigma Gamma, the National Health Education Honorary, has had a rich history of contributions to the profession of health education and health promotion. Schaller, HSD, William Bock, BhD, and Robert J. Synovitz, HSD, on their way home from a national convention. It was through the further commitment of a group of dedicated professors and students at Ball State Unive

rsity that the first chapter of the honorary was established. Today, there are over eighty chapters representing thousands of students in colleges and universities around the United States . A national professional honor society in health education, Eta Sigma Gamma’s primary purpose is to elevate the standards, ideals, competence, and ethics of professionally trained individuals in the health field. The Eta Sigma Gamma insignia reflects the ideals of teaching, service and research. The lamp of learning utilized in installation/initiation ceremonies represents the unifying element of the three ideals.
