The UNH MSND is a 4 semester program with over 1,200 practicum-based hours to prepare awesome RDNs! https://www.facebook.com/UNHNutritionProgram/

Our MSDI program accepts 10 students each fall and offers individualized mentorship and personal interaction with faculty, mentors, and other interns. Students will gain valuable, hands-on experience through our practicums, building entry-level food system, research and nutrition care skills. Practicum sites include hospitals, public schools and, on campus, UNH Dining, Health and Wellness, and Cooperative Extension. Our program emphasizes the role of sustainable food systems and is designed to meet the competencies specified by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), the accrediting agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. We are proud of our exceptional first-time pass rate on the national RDN exam. Check out the UNH Nutrition Program's page to learn more about the entire department!

After helping plan menus and volunteering this Spring, she’ll continue building hands-on experience—supporting campers through nutrition education, carb counting, and creating a fun, supportive camp environment.

Introducing our Mentor Family Trees 🌳💛

This unique mentorship model connects MSND students and alumni across cohorts—creating a built-in support network that grows each year. Each incoming student is paired with a second-year mentor, gaining guidance, encouragement, and connection throughout their first year. And it doesn’t stop there—each “family tree” includes representatives from every graduating class since 2021, creating a network that spans from student to practicing RDNs.

Every Fall, our family trees come together—bringing current students and alumni into one space to share experiences, advice, and support.

From navigating coursework to preparing for careers, this community reminds our students:
✨ You’re never doing this alone
✨ There’s no one path in dietetics
✨ Connection is everything

Stay tuned as we spotlight each of our MSND mentor family trees 🍎🍌🍒

Congratulations to our very own Dr. Maggie Dylewski Begis, the 2026 NHAND Dietetic Educator of the Year!🎉👏

Through innovative Medical Nutrition Therapy simulations, Dr. Begis creates meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that prepares students to be effective practitioners. She is also a dedicated mentor, guiding students through their undergraduate and master’s programs, while even extending her impact globally as a volunteer pediatric RD in Southeast Asia.

Our students finish up the program with an elective rotation—and this May we introduced an exciting new opportunity focused on women’s health 💛
Students expanded their knowledge and skills in areas like menopause and bone health while gaining experience providing nutrition education to patients.
The rotation culminated in a Be Well Series presentation, where students shared practical, evidence-based strategies to support women’s health across the lifespan.
