Hello, Duke and DKU students!

Interested in inspiring conversations about the past, present, and future of U.S.-China relations and collaborations? Want to learn more about how technologies, education, environment, healthcare, economy, and various other exciting fields are transforming with this new era of Sino-US diplomacy?

Join our Duke China-U.S. Summit (DCUS) organizing committee!

DCUS hosts speakers from different parts of the world every year with a focus on the ever-evolving China-U.S. relationship.

This year, our core team members: Xuanyu, Ada, Yetta, and Nathan will be recruiting new board members for the 2021 summit organizing committee. We are excited to see you take interest in one of the 4 teams: Operations & Finance (OF), Content Design (CD), Business Development (BD), and Public Relations (PR).

The organizing committee offers opportunities to:
● host and customize a cross-national conference
● learn about research and collaboration between China and the U.S.
● connect with our guest speakers
● make friends on the team!
● develop a great resume
and so much more...

Applications to the organizing committee can be found here: https://duke.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b3N6enBx7KwbE4B

The deadline is 7/7/2020 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

If you would like to learn about past summits, or simply drop by to chat about DCUS, come to our zoom info session at 9 p.m. EDT on 6/26! We will also be hosting past committee members to share their stories. Here is the link to sign up for the info session: https://forms.gle/SWBnxiTAFscrrwtb6

Organized by Duke East Asia Nexus (DEAN), free boba over discussion on translating the Chinese classic, Romance of the Three Kingdoms with Mr. John Zhu!
Mr. John Zhu is the producer of a podcast, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", that retells the Chinese classic novel by the same name in English. He will be talking about how he brought this novel to an international audience.
Three fascinating facts:
1) The podcast has a 4.9 rating on iTunes and over 150 episodes.
2) Mr. Zhu is our very own director of communications at the Duke University Graduate School.
3) The project started in 2014, so it's almost 5 years old!

Please come join DEAN and enjoy chatting with Mr. Zhu!

Last Sunday, we had three Duke alumni Wenshun Liu, Henry Yan and Zheqing Zhu, all of whom work at Facebook, to come back and chat with current students. Students of different years expressed their passion about the tech industry and received valuable professional guidance from the alumni. We look forward to have more of you joining other future alumni chats : D
