Proud of you Soror!!!

Hi Bullcity Woodshop community! My name is Na'Kayla Hamilton, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the Social Work Intern at Bullcity Woodshop! I’m currently a senior Social Work student with a minor in Public Health Education at North Carolina Central University. I’ll be with Bullcity Woodshop through my graduation in May. In my role, I’ll be working alongside the Executive Director and volunteer team to support our youth, families, and programming. I’m especially excited to connect with our students, learn more about their experiences, and help create opportunities that support their growth, creativity, and confidence. I’ll also be assisting with youth support, community outreach, program development, and volunteer engagement.

A Little Bit About Me: I’m originally from Wingate, North Carolina, and my favorite color is hot pink! In the future, I aspire to become a high school guidance counselor, where I hope to support students as they navigate school, plan for their futures, and reach their goals. I’m really looking forward to bringing my passion for working with young people into my role at Bullcity Woodshop and getting to know everyone!

Yesterday, we attended the Hip Hop Is Higher Ed Symposium where the featured speaker was our newest Soror MC Sha-Rock
It was great to hear her story, her North Carolina roots, and see the audience give her her flowers for paving the way for other women MCs.

Congratulations on your upcoming induction into the NC Hall Of Fame.
