As a member of the Methodist-Roman Catholic International Commission, Dean Edgardo Colón-Emeric met with the prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, delivered a lecture on the commission’s recent report at the Angelicum, and spoke briefly with Pope Leo XIV about Methodist-Catholic dialogue.

Join the Asian House of Studies on October 22 for a day with Rev. Dr. Soong-Chan Rah!

Rev. Dr. Rah will begin the day preaching in Goodson Chapel as part of Duke Divinity School’s Centennial Preaching Series.

A Duke alum, Rev. Dr. Rah received his Th.D. from Duke University and currently serves as the Robert B. Munger Professor of Evangelism and Church Renewal at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Following chapel, join AHS for “Coming Back Home: Because Being Korean is Now Cool,” a lunch and lecture exploring the Asian American Christian story—how its narrative imagination has evolved and what its continued development may mean for the future of Asian American theology and ecclesiology.

During one conversation about a lifetime of ministry, Professor Will Willimon offered this encouragement: “Have faith in your calling. Have faith that Jesus knew what he was doing when he got you into this, and that he has decided to use you for his purposes.”

To mark its 100th anniversary, Duke Divinity School commissioned a new hymn, "Here We Gather/Divinity 100," with words by acclaimed poet Malcolm Guite and music by Zebulon Highben, associate professor of the practice of church music at Duke Divinity School.

Inspired by the centennial theme “Our Calling to Fulfill,” the hymn celebrates the school's enduring commitment to worship, witness, preaching and theological education — with the hope that congregations will continue singing it for generations to come.
