Farm Lane is now open! 🚧

After a summer of construction and detours, we're excited to share that Farm Lane has reopened to traffic. The remaining campus road construction projects are also expected to wrap up by Aug. 25, helping restore normal traffic flow across campus.

Before heading to campus, check our detours map for the latest information on road closures, traffic impacts and alternate routes. https://apps.gis.msu.edu/construction/closures-and-detours/

Kinda chic to be the people behind the scenes.

From keeping MSU running 24/7/365 to stewarding 1,822 acres, building what's next, keeping campus moving and making the setup look effortless, Infrastructure Planning and Facilities is behind a lot of what makes campus work.

We keep the water flowing. We keep the elevators moving.

We build, maintain, repair, landscape, transport, set up and so much more.

Yeah, we think that's kinda chic. 💚

For decades, Sparty has welcomed students, alumni and visitors to Michigan State University, becoming a timeless part of the MSU experience.

In 2005, a new bronze Sparty was unveiled at the intersection of Kalamazoo Street, Chestnut Road and Red Cedar Road; his home on campus today. The statue was made from a mold of the original Sparty.

For generations of Spartans, a photo with the Spartan statue has been more than just a campus snapshot. It’s a tradition.

From first visits to campus tours, move-in day, graduation and everything in between, students, families, alumni and visitors have gathered here to capture a moment and celebrate what it means to be a Spartan.

Because so many people visit Sparty each year, the surrounding lawn experiences heavy foot traffic. To help protect this well-loved space while improving access, Infrastructure Planning and Facilities will be installing new paver pathways around the statue.

These improvements will provide a more durable walking surface, help preserve the surrounding landscape and ensure future Spartans can continue making memories with one of MSU’s most iconic landmarks.

📸 Have you checked “take a photo with Sparty” off your Spartan bucket list? If so, let us see!
