MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Supporting MSU’s academic and research mission.

Michigan State University’s Infrastructure Planning and Facilities (IPF) plans, builds, maintains and beautifies the physical environment in support of Michigan State University’s education, research and outreach missions, and directs the university’s long-term infrastructure planning goals. The unit’s experienced team of 1,000 professionals keep MSU running by supporting the infrastructure needs of the university and providing expert analysis for university objectives.

Fall is a pretty good time to take the scenic route!

See Hidden Lake Gardens in its autumn colors on a guided Fall Color Tour. Hop aboard a golf cart with Education Program Coordinator Carley Kratz to explore scenic overlooks, garden collections and some of the best views across the property.

Along the way, you'll learn about the glaciers that shaped the landscape, the history of the Gardens and the vision that continues to shape the views today.

Four new cow sculptures have been installed at the MSU Dairy Cattle Teaching and Research Center, and they need names! A committee will review the entries and select the winning names. It’s Friday and the store is open until 3:30pm. Today is our annual milling demo with MSU Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Landscape Services! A saw will be on site from 10am - 1pm milling campus trees and boards will be available for $25 - $45.

Today, we’re celebrating our custodial teams! 💚

From classrooms and offices to research spaces and common areas, our custodial staff help care for thousands of spaces across MSU’s campus every day.

Their work takes consistency, teamwork and a whole lot of attention to detail. And every day brings something different, from routine cleaning and upkeep to preparing spaces for events and responding to whatever the day brings.

We’re grateful for the people who bring that care and commitment to their work every day.
