Congratulations to Kent State Salem BSN student Klair Ketchum for this special recognition!

The NHGEO is proud to announce the recipient of the Susan Bickerstaff Casto: Legacy of Care Scholarship — Klair Ketchum of Salem and is a senior nursing student at Kent State Columbiana County Campuses
Klair is a dedicated non-traditional nursing student and the devoted mother of three sons, ages 8, 10, and 13. Her determination, perseverance, and commitment to furthering her education embody the very spirit of this scholarship.
Susan’s friends and caregivers, who walked beside her throughout her illness, knew that Susan would be deeply honored to help another nurse achieve her dreams and continue the tradition of paying kindness and compassion forward. Susan herself was an LPN who courageously returned to school to become an RN, understanding firsthand the sacrifices and dedication required to pursue a nursing career while balancing family and life responsibilities.
It is our privilege and honor to present this scholarship to Klair in Susan’s memory and on her behalf, continuing Susan’s beautiful legacy of care, compassion, and encouragement for future generations of nurses.
