UF IFAS Extension Putnam County UF/IFAS Extension Putnam County is a partnership between UF/IFAS, Putnam County BOCC, and the USDA.

We provide science-based education in horticulture, agriculture, urban health, and 4-H to support individuals and communities. Extension is a partnership between state, federal, and county governments to provide scientific knowledge and expertise to the public. The University of Florida (UF), together with Florida A&M University (FAMU), administers the Florida Cooperative Extension Service. At the

University of Florida, Extension is located in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS), along with the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) and the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station, and is called UF/IFAS Extension. UF/IFAS EXTENSION MISSION

Today's 4-H Camp Spotlight goes to our Clover & Comb Beekeeping Camp. Come explore the life of bees and their crucial role in ecosystems with Ms. Ann Atkins, Mrs. Jeanie, & Ms. Wendy. You’ll discover how bees live, work and protect our planet! This camp is open to youth ages 11-18 as of 9/1/2025. Putnam 4-H is hosting a beekeeping camp June 24th -26th. On June 24th & 25th times are 9AM-4PM June 26th times are 9AM-1PM. Spaces are limited to the first 10 youth ages 11-18 as of 9/1/2025. Thanks to generous sponsors this camp is only $40 which includes daily lunch and snacks plus all supplies needed for youth to be equipped to care for their own hives at the end of camp.
