ESU’s Hospitality, Recreation, and Tourism Management Department Supports Warrior Food Pantry🥣
“East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Hospitality, Recreation, and Tourism Management (HRTM) recently presented a $1,716 check to the Warrior Food Pantry, raised through the department’s annual Empty Bowls fundraising event.
A collaborative effort between HRTM and the Art + Media + Design Department, Empty Bowls brings together students and community members for an evening of food and art in support of a meaningful cause. Guests enjoy a dinner of homemade soup prepared by HRTM students and take home a handcrafted ceramic bowl created by Art + Media + Design students.
The donation was presented to former ESU member, Bob Moses at St. Matthew’s Church, home of the Warrior Food Pantry. The pantry is dedicated to supporting ESU students by ensuring access to essential food and resources.
The Warrior Food Pantry, which is housed at St. Matthew’s Church, offers students a self-service option for obtaining food. It operates exclusively for ESU students every Tuesday during the academic semester from 2-4 p.m. The pantry is run by retired faculty and staff members of APSCURF, who volunteer their time to ensure the pantry’s success in supporting students’ well-being in collaboration with St. Matthew’s Church.”
