Earlier this month, we welcomed students from Cheston Elementary School to campus for our annual MOSAIC Pen Pals visit!

After spending the school year writing letters back and forth, students finally had the opportunity to meet their college pen pals in person. Throughout the day, they explored campus through a scavenger hunt and tour, learned about college life, and built meaningful connections with their mentors and peers.

With over 80 students from each school participating, the MOSAIC Pen Pals Program continues to foster literacy, mentorship, and a sense of belonging for both elementary and college students alike. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this day so special! ❤️

This semester, we hosted 10 Connected Classrooms partnerships and visits. Local elementary school students came to campus for a day of hands-on learning led by Lafayette students, covering topics like zine-making, upcycling, electricity, microplastics, and the scientific method. While they’re here, they also get a campus tour, pizza lunch, and a chance to see what college life is like.

Thanks to the professors who build this into their courses, the students who design and teach the lessons, and the volunteers who lead tours and spend time with visiting classes!

Over the past two weeks, MOSAIC has had the opportunity to host two powerful education events centered on deepening our impact and intentionality as we head into the summer months.

Our first session focused on the “summer slide” and how we can proactively support our community partners and students during our program hiatus. Together, we explored strategies to ensure continuity, access to resources, and meaningful engagement beyond our academic year.

Our second event challenged us to think more intentionally about how we support ESL learners in our community. Through thoughtful conversation and shared learning, our civic leaders and volunteers gained new tools and perspectives to better foster inclusive, empowering spaces for multilingual learners.

A huge thank you to Professor Larson, Professor Kang and our community partners at ProJeCt of Easton for sharing their knowledge and expertise; their guidance will continue to shape the way we show up in and alongside our community.

We are grateful for the continued growth, reflection, and commitment of our MOSAIC leaders as we strive to build stronger, more equitable partnerships. 💛

The results are in! LAFAYETTE IS THE WINNER of the 2026 Blood Drive Rivalry! We beat Lehigh and we’re proudly holding onto the Life Cup trophy!

Together with Lehigh, the blood collected through the rivalry drives is enough to potentially save up to 237 lives.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated, volunteered, and encouraged others to get involved. Your efforts not only helped save lives- they helped Lafayette come out on top! 🏆

Miller-Keystone and Landis want to give a huge thank you to everyone in our campus community who showed up and donated at the blood drive. No matter who wins the rivalry once results are in…the impact of each donation is what really matters.

If you didn’t make it to the drive, you can still donate at Miller-Keystone Blood Center through Saturday and use code 4022 to have it count toward Lafayette’s rivalry total. We appreciate everyone who showed up and took part!
