I-LEAD, a LeadingAge Wisconsin Leadership Development Program, connects participants with experienced leaders in the aging services industry who share their wisdom, inspiration, and real-world insights with the next generation of long-term care leaders.

🌟 HCAD Faculty Spotlight 🌟

Dr. Johs-Artisensi presented her research on "Why Leadership Standards in Residential Care Matter: Policy Insights from an Analysis of U.S. Assisted Living Administrator Qualifications." at the 7th Global Congress on Nursing & Patient Care in Vienna, Austria, on July 21, 2026.

Her presentation highlighted findings from a nationwide analysis of assisted living administrator standards and their implications for leadership, quality, and accountability in residential care.

The annual Mackenzie Classic Golf Tournament and Fundraiser was a success this year! The event raises funds for the George F. Mackenzie Scholarship Fund, which supports individuals pursuing careers in long-term care. Since its start, the scholarship fund has raised more than $255,000 for UW - Eau Claire Healthcare Administration students. ⛳🏌️‍♂️🎟

Current residency students Michael Pittenger (’27) and Grace Krenn (’27) represented UWEC HCAD by selling tickets for the $500 Shootout and the 50/50 raffle, helping raise funds for the scholarship program.

Michael was one of 10 participants selected for the $500 Shootout, where golfers attempted to hit their ball closest to the pin from 100 yards away for a chance to win the $500 prize. HCAD alumn Peter Vander Meer (’24) was also selected to participate. Although neither took home the prize, it was exciting to see strong HCAD representation in the competition!

Michael and Grace were also joined by HCAD alumni Emma Sullivan (’26) and Heston Amble (’25) at the CEO Summit, where they participated in a panel discussion about the future of long-term care for young professionals.
