Our last Faculty Forum is with Dr. Mia Kelly from the Political Science & Criminal Justice Department on April 15th!
Using institutional betrayal theory to guide her, Dr. Kelly will discuss a study on abuse and misconduct experiences in the National Women's Soccer League and the Catholic Church.

The next Faculty Forum co-presenters are Dr. Cole Crider and Dr. Pedro Sottile! They will present on Wednesday, April 1.

Dr. Crider, from Management and Leadership Programs, will present research using 15,892 Kickstarter campaigns to study how budget transparency and the platform’s “Project We Love” endorsement affect funding success. He finds both help, but they substitute for each other rather than reinforce one another.

Dr. Sottile, from the Accounting and Finance Department, will present an applied teaching approach that integrates real-world financial markets into the classroom using the Bloomberg Terminal. His approach allows students to analyze live market data, helping them connect financial theory to real market behavior and gain hands-on experience with tools commonly used in the finance industry.

The next Faculty Forum presenter is Dr. Matthew Meyer from the Philosophy and Religious Studies Department. Dr. Meyer will present on March 11.

Dr. Meyer will cover the topic of AI and what it can cause humanity to lose. He will tie it into various concepts surrounding the meaning of life and discuss how AI affects human thought. We hope to see you there!

Our next Faculty Forum presenter is Dr. April Bleske-Rechek, from the Psychology Department! She is set to present on February 25.

Dr. April Bleske-Rechek will be presenting on the efforts necessary to nurture civil dialogue between students who are politically different. She will share the resulting benefits and lessons gathered from research on students who participated in conversations with politically differing peers.

Our next Faculty Forum co-presenters are Dr. Frances Hawes and Dr. Seungbin Oh! This will occur on February 18.

Dr. Frances Hawes will be presenting on a study regarding the relation between burnout in nursing home staff and the presence of grief support. If time permits, she hopes to present on practical implications to improve staff well-being through organizational grief support and tailored interventions.
Dr. Seungbin Oh will be presenting on a study regarding whether a CEO's locality to their firm's headquarters affects corporate tax avoidance. He will speak on this study in relation to the place attachment theory and how local CEOs are more likely to take on the consequences that result from reducing tax payments to fund local public goods.

You have one last chance this semester to join us for the Fall Faculty Forum! We will round off the series next Wednesday, November 19, with a panel of four UWEC faculty members. The panel will feature Dr. Jonathan McCombs, Dr. David Jones, Dr. Kaishan Kong, and Dr. Longhzhu D**g. The panel will feature a discussion about using International Education in research and its implications in the scholarly field.

Our next Faculty Forum presenter is Dr. Matt Haffner from the Department of Geography and Anthropology!

Dr. Haffner will discuss his survey of local attitudes toward cycling, specifically how the perception of safety impacts these attitudes and the likelihood of using bicycles as a mode of transportation. Using this information, Dr. Haffner will share an approach to improving these attitudes that can be applied to other communities.
