Today, as our great Nation celebrates 250 years of Independence, Mountain Chapter No. 564 of National Sojourners, Inc., proudly joins our fellow Americans in honoring the enduring principles upon which the United States was foundedโLiberty, Duty, Honor, and Faith.
For two and a half centuries, generations of patriots have answered the call to preserve the freedoms secured by our Founding Fathers. From the battlefields of the Revolutionary War to every conflict since, the men and women of our Armed Forces have stood as guardians of the ideals embodied in our Flag and our Constitution. Their courage and sacrifice remind us that freedom is never free.
As Masons, we are especially mindful of the many fellow Brothers who have helped forge and defend our Republic. We honor Brother George Washington, Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army and Father of Our Country; Brother Marquis de Lafayette, whose unwavering support proved indispensable to American independence; Brother Andrew Jackson, Brother Zachary Taylor, Brother James A. Garfield, Brother William McKinley, Brother Theodore Roosevelt, Brother Harry S. Truman, Brother Douglas MacArthur, Brother Omar N. Bradley, Brother Audie Murphy, and countless other Masonic military leaders whose devotion to God and Country helped preserve the blessings of liberty. Their examples continue to inspire us to serve with honor, integrity, and fidelity.
We also pause in grateful remembrance of the Companions of Mountain Chapter No. 564 who have worn the uniform of our Nation. Whether they served in times of war or peace, at home or abroad, their dedication, sacrifice, and patriotism are woven into the proud history of our Chapter. Their legacy reminds us that service to our Country and service to humanity are sacred obligations.
Likewise, we extend our deepest gratitude to Sojourners across this great Nationโfrom every Chapter and every Departmentโwhose steadfast commitment to patriotism, military service, constitutional principles, and Masonic values continues to strengthen our Fraternity and our Republic. United by a common purpose, we proudly carry forward the traditions entrusted to us by those who came before.
As Sojourners, we are inspired by the timeless virtues of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. We reaffirm our commitment to promoting patriotism, encouraging civic responsibility, supporting our military, and strengthening the moral foundations of our communities. May we continue to labor faithfully, leaving our Nation stronger for those who will follow us.
On this historic milestone, let us pause to remember those who built this Republic, those who defended it, those who gave the last full measure of devotion, and those who continue to serve today. May we remain steadfast in our obligation to God, Country, and our fellow citizens, ever mindful that the freedoms we cherish were purchased through courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.
May the Great Architect of the Universe continue to bless the United States of America, protect those who wear the uniform of our Nation, comfort the families of our fallen heroes, and guide us in preserving the sacred blessings of liberty for generations yet unborn.
Happy 250th Birthday, America!
Fraternally and Patriotically,
Mountain Chapter No. 564
