The Bruce Gallery is happy to announce the opening of The First 50 Years: Celebrating a Half Century of Edinboro’s MFA Program. The opening reception for this exhibition will be Thursday, April 30th from 4-7 pm.

The First 50 Years celebrates Edinboro's alumni artists' and their high level of professionalism and creative accomplishments in ceramics, jewelry/metalsmithing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.

The exhibition will be available in Bruce Gallery located on the Edinboro campus of PennWest University, from April 30th through October 4th, 2026. The Bruce Gallery is located on the first floor of the Baron-Forness Library, 200 Tartan Rd., Edinboro, PA. The gallery is free and open to the public during the library operating hours.

⭐️ Join us for the show reception and awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 25th, from 5-7PM in the Bruce Gallery foyer! Scholarship winners will be chosen by alumni Ryan Zimmerman.

💭 Celebrate the Artist honors Michael V. Gmitter, an art student studying metals and jewelry at Edinboro University who died in 2006. Michael’s parents established an endowment to support an annual Celebrate the Artist memorial exhibition, competition, and scholarship in their son’s name. Each Fall, PennWest Edinboro’s senior art students submit their applications for the opportunity install their artwork in a mini solo show in the university’s Bruce Gallery. Celebrate the Artist: The 17th Annual Michael V. Gmitter Memorial Scholarship Exhibition will be on view from March 23rd until April 5th.
