We’re so proud to highlight Md Arafat Hossain, a UTRGV alumnus who earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering.

During his Ph.D., Arafat focused on becoming an independent researcher—designing experiments, developing new materials, solving technical challenges, and turning scientific ideas into practical applications. His work with different materials and energy-harvesting technologies helped him grow not only as a researcher, but also in problem-solving, collaboration, project management, communication, and mentoring.

Congratulations, Dr. Hossain! We’re proud to celebrate your journey and all that you’ve accomplished at UTRGV.
