Yesterday, we got to celebrate our very own Julie Adriansen being named the Vail Valley Non-Credit Faculty of the Year for 2025-2026. Julie teaches "Watercolor for Fun" and "Intermediate Watercolor Exploration." Her students love her positive attitude and expertise. She is a warm, welcoming, positive presence in the classroom, making her students feel like family! The students who nominated her admire her ability to meet people where they are and help them be better artists. We are so lucky to have Julie on our campus! If you'd like to take a class with Julie, it pays to sign up early! Her classes always fill fast! Congratulations Julie! Well deserved!

If self-care is a goal for the new year, consider learning how to knit! Knitting can help reduce stress, improve mental well-being by lowering anxiety and boosting mood, and enhance cognitive function, potentially reducing the risk of mild cognitive impairment. Physically, it sharpens fine motor skills and coordination, while socially, knitting in groups fosters community and shared accomplishment, providing a mindful, present-focused activity that promotes relaxation and a sense of pride. Not bad for one little hobby! Join us for "In the Loop Circle." It's perfect for beginners and knitters who want to take their knitting beyond scarves and hats! Class is on Thursdays, 6pm to 9pm, 1/15 - 2/19 and costs $125. Janette Adrian, owner of Tumbleseed Stitchery in Eagle, will be your guide!
