Why I went Greek Wednesday with ‘s president, Clarice Garris⭐️ 🔑⚜️💙
“During my first semester at SIUE, I planned to go through Recruitment but decided not to at the last minute because I wasn’t sure if Greek life was the right fit for me. Looking back, it didn’t take long to realize I had made the wrong decision. As a freshman, I was still trying to find where I belonged and often felt disconnected from campus. Watching Greek life from the outside, I saw friendships, involvement, and a sense of community that I was missing. That’s when I knew I wanted to give myself another chance.
One of the girls who would later become my big told me about an event, so I decided to attend. From the moment I walked in, everything felt natural. The conversations were genuine, the girls were welcoming, and it was easy to see how much Kappa meant to each of them. Seeing how comfortable everyone was together made me realize this was exactly the kind of sisterhood I had been looking for.
Since joining Kappa, I have met incredible people and built friendships that I know will last long after college. I have also formed meaningful connections with women who have encouraged me to grow and helped shape my experience. One of the greatest gifts Kappa has given me is my Kappa family. They have supported me through so many moments, and I am grateful for the love, encouragement, and memories we have shared. I truly cannot imagine my college experience without them.
When I joined Kappa, I never imagined that one day I would have the privilege of serving as Chapter President. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career and something I am incredibly thankful for. Looking back, joining Kappa was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The friendships, opportunities, leadership experiences, and memories I have gained through this organization are things I will always cherish. Kappa gave me a place where I feel supported, valued, and connected, and I am so thankful for the sisters, my Kappa family, and all the opportunities that have come into my life because of Kappa.”
