🎓 Iwakuni held its first Open House with staff and faculty taking the first step of connection and support to the military community. Our faculty sat down with active-duty Marines discussing and answering questions about their classes while staff demystified the college experience, career planning, and how to move toward achieving their goals.

One of our students, Xavier Jones, came in ready to be an asset for fellow Marines as he provided his experience and perspective as student in Okinawa and mainland Japan.

🎓 Meet Ashley Stephens.

What started with earning her GED became a journey across the globe.

Through multiple PCS moves from Korea to Italy and back to Korea, while growing her family to four, she stayed committed to her education. In 2024, she achieved a goal she once wasn't sure was possible, becoming a first-generation college graduate and earning her degree in History with a minor in East Asian Studies.

No matter where military life took her, Ashley kept moving forward. ✨

Victoria Paul put on an enormous unit brief for 836 Marines at Camp Schwab, Okinawa — all by herself. Her idea to engage the crowd with T-shirts and swag was a hit, helping open the door to transforming Marines' lives through education. With only five months in her Program Coordinator role, she showed poise, confidence, and professionalism, and made a strong brand statement. We're proud of you, Victoria — keep going! 👏💪

📚 Taking education where our students serve.

The 374th Logistics Readiness Squadron recently launched its first unit class with Professor Breckenridge, helping Airmen make progress toward their CCAF requirements.

The initiative began with two active-duty Air Force students, Ezekiel Nanez and Alondra Aguirre, who are both in the final year of their bachelor's degree programs. Having benefited from unit classes in the past, they wanted to bring the same opportunity to their units.

When individual unit participation wasn't enough to start a class, they collaborated their respective units to build a cohort and create a convenient lunchtime learning opportunity for their fellow Airmen.
