🏮✨ Lights, culture, and community! ✨🏮
 
Forty participants from Osan joined UMGC in Asia for an unforgettable day celebrating and learning the history of the 2026 Lotus Lantern Parade.
 
With the guidance of Professor Frank Concilus, we began with a tour of Bongeun Temple, explored Korean Buddhist traditions, then headed to Dongguk University to enjoy performances before joining thousands of marchers in the annual parade.
 
As the sun set, we carried glowing lotus lanterns alongside the Bongeun Temple group through the streets of Seoul, creating a river of light stretching nearly four miles in honor of Buddha’s Birthday.
 
An amazing day of learning, friendship, and cultural celebration! 🌸🏮 We love creating opportunities for our students and community to explore the rich cultures of Asia.
