Last Friday, our department was proud to host our Industry Advisory Board (IAB) meeting. We are grateful to the board members who were able to attend and share their valuable insight: Herman Amaya, David Katz, Andres Rodela, Andrea Romero, Rebecca Shiel, Paul Spencer, and Leo Vega.

We also extend our sincere thanks to our IAB members who continue to support the department but were unable to join us this time. On behalf of our faculty and students, thank you all for your time, guidance, and continued commitment to our program. We truly value your input and look forward to hosting you again next year!

Spring is in the air...even under the microscope. 🌸✨

This Tungsten/Molybdenum phase in a weld overlay at 100x is giving us major butterfly vibes. Nature’s patterns, engineered performance. 🦋

And to all our students, welcome back from spring break! Let’s dive into the rest of the semester with fresh energy and curiosity.

🔬💙 Today our Metallurgical, Materials & Biomedical Engineering team is proud to join Operation College Bound at Chapin High School: an initiative where EPCC and UTEP bring admissions, financial aid, testing, counseling, and enrollment support directly to students, making the path to college more accessible than ever.

Operation College Bound is a traveling enrollment event with stops at high schools across El Paso, designed to simplify registration and showcase academic opportunities for future college students.

We’re excited to meet future engineers, answer questions, and spark curiosity about the materials and technologies shaping tomorrow. From advanced alloys to biomedical innovation... their journey starts here! 🧪✨
