This week the cadets spent time at Portsmouth, VA, Woodrow Wilson High School.Cadet Marcella Barnes is a graduate of their Army ROTC Program. She and her fellow cadets, Poyner, Caruthers, Graves and Elliott were also present to help with recruiting for Elizabeth City State University and the Army ROTC Program during a school wide College Fair. Master Sergeant Smack was the ECSU Army ROTC Cadre on sight and spent time with the 210 high school Army ROTC cadets.

The ECSU ARMY ROTC Program offers scholarships for 3.5, 3, 2.5 and 2 years. For the last two school years we have given out over 15 scholarships that have benefits that total over $800,000 to ECSU Students. If you know a student that would like information please have them contact the ROTC Scholarship and Enrollment Officer, 757-320-8318. Congratulations to our scholarship cadets as they are recognized during Homecoming 2016 with Chancellor Conway, Lieutenant Colonel Gawlik, Alumni, family and friends. Viking Pride!

Cadet Padraic Hohenstein is one of our brightest and uprising cadets for the ECSU ARMY ROTC Program. He is standing with his arms folded and focused while receiving training during ROTC LAB. Cadet Hohenstein is local to the Elizabeth City area. He is an Army Reservist. He has attended both Basic Training and Advance Individual Training while still maintaining a GPA that is way above 3.0. As a SMP cadet he is focused, determined and has great potential.
