Graduation is an exciting time, but it can be scary too. We've put together some Words Of Wisdom that mirror our own experiences after graduation. We hope they help!

It's a beautiful time...to get in your CE hours! Seniors should have their hours submitted into Handshake by May 8th.

Underclassmen: Third term and summer break are great times to complete your hours too!

For any questions you can always ask Emily, wherever you may see her.

These phenomenal tutors are leaving EC and crossing that stage! But first they're giving you all some really helpful advice.

Still need more writing help? Make an appointment with the Writing Center via Navigate or stop by during their Drop In hours (posted outside the WC)

If you need to locate CE or intern opportunities, we have them on Handshake on the Resources page (cleverly hidden via the Career Center page). We have a video showing the navigation to submit your hours which will lead you a similar direction here: https://youtu.be/Yw49Vh_rqMw?si=fTI72l5-8hio0jVQ

If you’re a community partner or someone on campus looking to recruit volunteers or interns, reach out to [email protected] and let our staff know what you need. We’re always happy to add to the list!

CAPE’s Community Engagement Coordinator, Emily Barnes joined Dr. Lemak and several students at Quarry Farms this past weekend to help with the careful deconstruction of a historic stone wall. This event is just one example of community service that could be used to complete your required Community Engagement hours.

Remember that Handshake isn’t just where you log your CE, it also has a list of pre-approved CE opportunities for those seeking more hours. If you need any help navigating Handshake or have any other questions regarding Community Engagement ask Emily in her office or via email at [email protected]
