A huge congratulations to Elon Nursing student **Megan Linthicum** for being recognized as a **Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) Scholar** through the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA)! 🎓✨

Megan was recently featured on the FNSNA website as part of its *Scholars Shine Bright 2026* spotlight, highlighting nursing students and their achievements!

A little taste of the Dominican Republic! 🇩🇴🍌🍚

As our Elon Nursing students prepare for their upcoming J-Term trip to the Dominican Republic, they got a hands-on introduction to Dominican culture through a cooking class! Students spent the evening preparing traditional favorites, experimenting with plantains, rice, and plenty of delicious flavors! 🍽️

This was such a fun opportunity to connect with the culture, try new things, and build excitement for the experiences ahead. We can’t wait to see what January brings! ❤️💛

This past Friday, we hosted our Nursing Alumni Social! It was so wonderful to welcome back our nursing alumni and bring them together with current students, faculty, and staff for an evening of connection, conversation, and celebration!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our first Alumni Social such a success! We loved seeing familiar faces, making new connections, and celebrating the growing Elon Nursing family!

🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Jaimee Watts Isley, Assistant Professor of Nursing at Elon University, and Heather Bunn, Nurse Manager at Piedmont Health Services, on this exciting recognition!

Their poster was named one of just two winning posters at the 2026 North Carolina Public Health Association Fall Educational Conference! 🏆

The poster highlighted an academic-practice partnership between Elon Nursing and Piedmont Health Services, supported by an NC AHEC grant, that works to expand community health clinical opportunities for nursing students.

This recognition celebrates their dedication to community-based learning, meaningful collaboration, and preparing future nurses to make a difference in health outcomes across North Carolina. ❤️💛

Elon Nursing was represented in Washington, D.C.! ❤️💛
A few of our incredible faculty recently presented their work at the National League for Nursing (NLN) Education Summit, sharing innovative approaches to nursing education with educators from across the country.
Their presentations highlighted creative ways to prepare the next generation of nurses - from using a case-based course model to better prepare prelicensure nurses for public health emergencies, to incorporating an EHR scavenger hunt designed to strengthen students’ confidence and skills with electronic health records.
We are so proud to see our faculty contributing to conversations and innovations shaping the future of nursing education. Congratulations to our faculty presenters on representing Elon Nursing on a national stage! 🩺✨

Family Weekend is almost here! ❤️💛

We’re excited to welcome our Elon Nursing families to campus this weekend! Join us Friday, September 25 from 4:30–5:30 p.m. in the Francis Center Lobby for our Open House. Stop by for light refreshments, tour the Nursing Department, and say hello to Dr. Quay!

Then, on Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m., continue the weekend with Family Weekend Academic Connections on main campus and get the chance to meet our nursing faculty.

We can’t wait to see our students and their families! 🩺✨ Happy Family Weekend!
