🌎 GEC Student Spotlight: Meet Olivia!✈️

Meet Olivia Tamburino, a senior studying International Business & Finance with a minor in Leadership Studies and one of our GEC student staff members!

Olivia spent Fall 2025 in Sorrento, Italy and made the most of her experience by traveling every weekend. Some of her favorite memories include getting lost in the souks of Marrakech, exploring the Dolomites, and living in a villa where she became close with her roommates and host mom, Manuela. 💫

Her advice for students thinking about going abroad? “Take every opportunity offered!” Studying abroad is a chance to meet new friends from around the world, explore new places, and experience different cultures.

Olivia joined the GEC to learn more about global experiences and help other students who are interested in studying away. Her favorite part of working at the GEC is building connections with the advisors and staff and making friends with her fellow front desk assistants!

🌴 Her dream destination? The Azores Islands!

Follow along as we continue introducing the student staff who help make the GEC what it is! 🌍

Her advice for students thinking about going abroad? Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone—and make sure to cherish the memories you make along the way. 💫

Ashley joined the GEC because she wanted to help other students find the place and experience that feels right for them, just like she did. Her favorite part of working at the GEC is attending fairs and connecting with prospective students!

🌏 Next on Ashley’s travel list? Australia!

Her advice for students thinking about going abroad? “Try everything!” You never know when you’ll get the chance to return to a place, so make the most of the experience. 💫

Lauren joined the GEC because she wants to help other students experience the world and learn from amazing professors, just like she did.
