Elon M.Ed. Program Elon’s newly structured 33-hour M.Ed. Candidates are: (1.) offered opportunities to experiment in their own practice with innovative pedagogies.

program with an emphasis in Innovation in Education is part-time and designed for teachers who are graduates of accredited institutions and initially licensed to teach. Our program has been designed to disrupt practitioners’ traditional concepts of schooling and move teachers toward more progressive visions and praxis. introduced to a range of progressive student-centered pedagogies such as projec

t-based learning and place-based education, (2.) asked to reimagine education within a constructivist framework, allowing for equitable learning opportunities that are respectful and responsive of students’ backgrounds, and (3.) A key feature of the M.Ed. Program is the flexibility offered by a blended learning model. Two on-campus courses are held in the summer for four weeks in a face-to-face setting. During the fall and spring semesters, enjoy the flexibility of completing courses online when you are teaching.

Matt Trez, Matt LaFuria, and Zoë Rein from the Class of 2023 are part of a new program, Teach for Alamance, for Elon graduates who want to earn the university’s Master of Education in Innovation degree on a full scholarship when they teach for two years in the Alamance-Burlington School System.

What an honor! An M.Ed. alumna was recently selected as 'Teacher of the Day'. Congratulations, Viviana!

Our Teacher of the Day for September 22 is Viviana Quindio from Old Town Elementary School. Quindio has been with the district for six years and serves as a fourth grade dual immersion teacher. Thank you for everything you do for our students!

Last night, 4 members of the M.Ed. Class of 2023 were inducted into Elon University's chapter of Kappa Delta Pi.

Organized to recognize excellence in education, Kappa Delta Pi elects those to membership who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards and promise in teaching and allied professions.

At Elon, graduate members must earn academic excellence with a cumulative grade-point average that falls within the top 18% of the graduating class.
