This afternoon we begin our symposium, "Religion at the Borders." Nine scholars from three countries will join us (virtually, of course) over three days. Elon symposium conveners include Amy Allocco (Religious Studies), Evan Gatti (Art History), Shayna Mehas (History) and Sandy Marshall (Geography). Featured speakers are Leah Sarat (Arizona State), whose keynote address is linked on this page, and Banu Gokariksel (UNC Chapel Hill), who will lead our concluding discussion. In conjunction with the symposium, we are honored also to be hosting the Lens on the Border photograph exhibit also posted on this page. So much going on!
