We’re thrilled to start the 2026-27 academic year off with exciting news: Sofia Barnes ‘28 and Parker Sterling ‘28 have been selected for the NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program! 🧬🔬🧪 These fabulous juniors will get to conduct research at nationally-ranked labs next summer in preparation for their postgraduate careers with the NIH, while earning substantial scholarship support along the way. We just couldn’t be prouder!

Fun fact: Elon students are SO amazing that this marks the third cohort in a row that at least one of ours was selected for the NIH UGSP. 🤩

The juniors are the most recent Elon undergraduates to join the ranks of the highly selective NIH-sponsored scholarship program.
