Nothing goes to waste from Good Soil Farm chickens in our house!

The goodness starts with good feed — non-GMO and non-soy — and carries all the way through the kitchen.

Chicken becomes dinner, bones become broth, and broth becomes the base for rice, soups, and so much more.

Here are some quart size bags of broth in our freezer, ready to help with a quick dinner next week.

Everyone who purchases chicken will receive a FREE tote bag while supplies last!

I (Beth) can personally attest to how useful these bags are—sturdy, washable, reusable, and roomy enough to hold a lot!

Does anyone else think sweet Italian chicken sausage and peppers sounds like the perfect meal for a chilly evening?

We’ll have BOTH at our pop-up market this Saturday! It may be your last chance to get local peppers for the season, with a real frost looking likely soon.

Or maybe you’re thinking chicken breasts, thighs, or legs roasted with garlic and peppers. Either way, we’ve got you covered!

To make it easy: With the purchase of any of our chicken (pieced chicken or chicken sausage), you can take home one FREE vegetable per customer at Saturday’s pop-up market!

For those of you who like to pick your own, we’re also opening up the pepper patches for gleaning! Pick your own sweet or hot peppers for just $1 per quart. Come get them while you can!

Early pickup helps us save valuable freezer space, and you save on your holiday meal! “Never frozen” turkeys are often stored at near freezing temperatures for months at a time, so you won’t be missing out on freshness by taking a frozen turkey from us.

The veggie CSA may be wrapping up, but local food doesn’t have to!

While the majority of our farm-fresh produce is grown in the spring, summer, and early fall, there’s actually quite a bit you can get from us year-round:

🥚 Eggs — subscribe for a minimum of 1 dozen per week and save!
🍞 Sourdough bread
🐓 Chicken
🐑 Lamb
🍯 Honey
🍁 Maple syrup
🍄 Mushrooms — available if we have enough mushroom-share members
🥬 Veggies — now that we have our high tunnel, we’re planning to harvest a limited amount of vegetables over the winter! We’ll let you know when they’re available.

🦃 And Thanksgiving turkeys will be available soon! We’ll share all the details in another post, hopefully this week!

If you live nearby, it’s easy to order online and pick up your order right here on the farm.

🌱 That’s a wrap on the 2026 CSA season! 🌱

We hope you’ve enjoyed being part of our CSA this year! We are grateful for the season overall—and especially grateful to everyone who chose to receive their food from us. ❤️

Because some of our crops have been found delicious by all manner of creatures in recent days, we are excited to be supplementing the Large Shares for this final week of the CSA with produce from two organic farms that also sell at the Adams County Farmers Market: Maggie’s Farm for winter squash and Open Hands Farm for salad greens. We love to be able to turn to other local farmers when our own fields don’t produce what we had hoped!

And finally… we’ll be sending out information soon about signing up for the 2027 CSA! We’d love to have you back. Sign up for emails on our website to be the first to know!

🍯 EARLY-SEASON LIGHT HONEY IS AVAILABLE NOW! 🍯

Joe the Beekeeper is on his way to the farm with the bottled honey! Come get some at the farmstand Thursday, 3–6 PM!

This honey comes from the honeybees of Mother’s Bees Apiary, stewarded by our friend and beekeeper, Joseph Lanzilotti, right here on Good Soil Farm. 🐝🌿

Joe took this honey home in August and filtered it, leaving it in its raw state—with plenty of pollen and tiny particles of wax and propolis still in the honey. The result is delicious local raw honey with a lovely, slightly textured character.
