The Mount capped its impressive SPARC Festival on Friday evening with the festive Honors Banquet, hosted by Honors Director and Professor of English, Dr. Sarah Scott. Dr. Marco Roman, Chair of the Department of World Languages & Cultures, is celebrating the fact that many of this year’s honors graduates double-majored or minored in a world language, effectively “internationalizing their majors.” Pictured behind Dr. Roman are Betsy Busch, Miriam Crouse, Haley Bodner, Anne Frederick and Ethan Bower. Congratulations to all.

Major/Minor Monday!

Kate Heintzelman (2019) was a triple major in English, Theology, and French.

"I'm so grateful to Dr. Roman and Professor Stefanik for their unwavering support as I studied French. Although it was never easy, studying French has been one of the most challenging, humbling, and rewarding experiences of my life."

Kate was one of only four students in the US to win a Fulbright ETA in Luxembourg. Follow her adventures here:

From President Trainor
"I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Diana Rodríguez-Lozano, Ph.D., as the John L. Morrison Distinguished Professor for a term of five years, effective September 1. This professorship, awarded to an exceptional faculty member who promotes international studies, aims to support research and teaching at the university and fund a series of scholarly lectures. 'Doctora,' as she’s affectionately known, exhibits this through the many immersive study abroad trips that she leads, showing students the importance of understanding different cultures."
