Mount Math Madness Problem of the Week

Mount Math Madness Problem of the Week Are you up for the challenge? For five weeks, starting Monday, February 10, 2020, three problems will The top 8 students will face off in a bracket challenge.

The problems will be assigned point values of 100, 200, and 300 points. Students may submit complete and correct solutions to 1, 2, or 3 problems. Therefore, a student may be awarded 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, or 600 points each week depending on the number of solutions they submit. Students will accumulate points over the first 5 weeks of the contest and be ranked according to the number of points

awarded. The bracket challenge will consist of 3 rounds of a single problem of the week. In the first round, students will be paired according to their rankings. The first student of each pair that responds with a correct solution will advance to the next round in the bracket. If both students submit an incorrect solution, then the student with the best attempt will advance in the bracket. Please note these problems will be posted on Sundays at 7 pm. This will eliminate any unfair advantage with Monday class schedules.
