Exciting updates from our School of Education students!

EDUC 100 students took a field trip to Emmitsburg Elementary School to observe students in a school setting. This was impactful as they are applying what's been learned, read, and discussed in class, and applying it to their Philosophy of Education Statements. Mother Seton is shown "photobombing," in which she reflects the calling that students feel to be educators, which is often reaffirmed when they get to step into the classrooms.

Education students went to Makers House to create collages using donated books, magazines, and newspapers. These collages reflect their philosophy of education statements, which they will present in class to their peers.

Our Fall dual enrollment courses are underway!

We are so excited to work with students from our partner Catholic high schools who are enrolled in courses this semester. Pictured below are students from St. John's Catholic Preparatory School, who take their dual enrollment courses at the Mount St. Mary's Frederick campus.

These students are enrolled in Introduction to Business and Decision-Making, taught by Dr. Carol Rinkoff; Introduction to Criminal Justice, taught by Dr. Tim Wolfe; and/or Foundations of Writing, taught by Dr. Marina Ellis. The dual enrollment program is offered through the Center for Catholic School Excellence located in the School of Education.
