Emory & Henry Hosts 13th Annual Global Street Party
Emory & Henry University’s Office of International Education will once again host its 13th annual Global Street Party on Friday, Aug. 21, beginning at 6 p.m. The Global Street Party is an annual event that marks the start of the academic year. The event is free and open to the public.
Held on the Van D**e Center Lawn at the Emory campus Duck Pond, the Global Street Party will start with Appalachian country music by Julie Williams & The Hired Guns followed by free line dancing hosted by Julie Williams.
Following the guest musical performances, students will perform in the Emory’s Got Talent competition. Faculty and staff judges will crown the next Emory’s Got Talent champion and the winner will receive a $500 travel grant to study abroad.
“Emory & Henry University educates students as global citizens,” said Dr. Celeste Gaia, director of international education. “The Global Street Party is an annual event that celebrates Emory & Henry as part of the global community – we want to encourage global perspective among both our students and our surrounding community.”
Emory & Henry’s Office of International Education hosts 15 faculty-led programs and 13 exchange programs and partnerships in 10 countries.
