What does Ordination Day really feel like?

Yes, it’s prayerful and solemn. But it’s also joyful. Emotional. Exciting.

There are moments of silence and reverence inside the church — and moments of laughter, hugs, tears and celebration afterward as families, friends and fellow Divine Word Missionaries gather together in gratitude.

This video offers a glimpse into last weekend’s Ordination of seven new Divine Word Missionary priests, six of whom studied and were formed at Divine Word College. For those who have never attended an Ordination, it’s a chance to experience not only the beauty of the ceremony, but also the deep joy and hope surrounding these men as they begin their priestly ministry.

This weekend, seven young men were ordained as Divine Word Missionary Priests. We give thanks for their vocation, their perseverance, and the many people who helped guide them along the way — families, formators, professors, benefactors, alumni, parish communities, and fellow SVDs.
