At Gannon University we offer a unique combination of a School of Business, a Small Business Development Center and a Technology Incubator (ETI) all under one roof. Our students have the opportunity to work with real life entrepreneurs through the SBDC and the ETI in starting and expanding their businesses. The school is designed to look and operate like a corporate headquarters with a focus on me
eting and satisfying the needs of our students and the business community. http://www.sbdcgannon.org/

• SBDC guides and assists entrepreneurs in promoting growth, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement.
• If the business has a technology component, the ETI can offer the needed office space, mentoring, technological and management support for that business to become and remain successful.
• For example, Gannon University currently has 2 student led and 2 faculty led legitimate businesses working with the assistance of the Erie Technology Incubator and the Small Business Development Center. This collaboration allows our students and faculty to put into practice the knowledge/skills learned and taught in the classroom in a real time, real world business.
2. Students are learning in a new, state-of-the-art learning facility. We offer the most comprehensive and up to date technology available in our Business Information Systems Laboratory including the SAP® global software.
3. The School of Business has a high
percentage of faculty who are doctorally qualified, many with real world business experience. Our faculty prides itself on being student focused.
4. Our students have opportunities for domestic and international internships, travel and study as a result of the relationships our School of Business has developed with universities in other countries, i.e. Germany, Poland and China.
5. We are fully accredited by ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs). ACBSP accreditation emphasizes excellence in teaching business. There is a rigorous and ongoing process to earn and maintain this accreditation.
6. We offer small classes – our average class size is less than 30 students and all classes are taught by professors and not teaching assistants. Our professors know their students by name.
7. All business students are advised and mentored by full-time business faculty.
8. Our School of Business is located in the heart of the central business district of Erie, PA. As a result of relationships developed with our business neighbors, many of these companies offer internships for our students, often leading to employment upon graduation.
9. Gannon University’s Mission Statement indicates that we offer a value centered learning experience that emphasizes faith, leadership, inclusiveness and social responsibility. The School of Business is supporting this mission statement by providing an Ethics based curriculum with an emphasis on practical knowledge and application in the functional areas of business.
10. Gannon School of Business students engage in service learning projects (in and out of the classroom), complete internships and assist local non-profit and for profit organizations.
11. Gannon University has been offering students cutting edge business programs for over 70 years and is the oldest business school in the region. Gannon boasts a world-wide network of alumni. Some of our more recent academic programs include: Sports Management & Marketing, Risk Management & Insurance, Healthcare Management and Supply Chain Management.
12. Gannon University students have an opportunity to complete both their Bachelor’s degree in business and Master of Business Administration or Master of Public Administration in five years. This is unique because earning that advanced degree requires an additional two years of study in most universities. Gannon University was the first MBA program in the region (1970) and is the only MPA program in the region. The undergraduate and graduate programs are both nationally accredited by the Associate of College and Business Schools and Programs. DAHLKEMPER SCHOOL OF BUSINESS (DSB) PROGRAM OUTCOMES
