Meet Briana Buckles, MBA '19, global director of sustainability at Yogi.

Steven Matsunaga joined the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business as an assistant professor of accounting in 1992 and was with the college for more than three decades before retiring in spring 2024. He most recently held the Charles E. Johnson Memorial Professorship of Accounting. Matsunaga passed away in August after a long battle with cancer. https://uobiz.co/matsunaga-1026

"Steve was an outstanding scholar, teacher, advisor, mentor, and colleague, and his impact on our college and all those he interacted with is significant and long-lasting," said Bruce Blonigen, the college's Edward Maletis Dean.

During his 34 years at Lundquist, Matsunaga built an international reputation for research in his areas of expertise, mentored and inspired students in the college's PhD program and beyond, and was known for his generosity and accessibility, stepping in wherever the college needed him.

"We will miss Steve around the halls of Lundquist," said UO School of Accounting director Kyle Peterson, "but his legacy of scholarship and collegiality will echo for a long time to come."
