It’s Manufacturing Monday

Talk about a full-circle project! 🔴⚙️⚫

The ceremonial shovels used to break ground on Lake Tech’s manufacturing building in 2017 are now permanently displayed thanks to the skills of an Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology student.

Just eight weeks into the program, Jaidyn Vanscoy designed custom wall mounts using CAD software, then brought his design to life through 3D printing.

That’s advanced manufacturing—and that’s what hands-on learning looks like at Lake Tech.

🏆 We’re winners… AGAIN! What a way to celebrate 60 years of workforce excellence!

Last month, Lake Technical College was voted 2026 Central Florida’s Favorite Trade/Technical College — and now we’re proud to announce that Lake Tech has been named a 2026 Best of Florida Regional Award Winner in the College division!

For 60 years, Lake Tech has been preparing students for successful careers and providing the skilled workforce our community needs. What began in Eustis in 1966 has grown into a premier regional workforce training leader serving students, employers, and communities throughout Lake County and beyond.

These back-to-back recognitions are especially meaningful during our 60th anniversary year because they reflect what has always made Lake Tech special: exceptional students, dedicated faculty and staff, strong industry partnerships, and a community that believes in career and technical education.

Behind that number are countless hours of studying, clinical training, determination, and hard work. We couldn’t be prouder of these graduates. Special thanks to Mrs. Linton and the clinical instructors who helped prepare them for this moment.

What a day! 🎉✂️

Today, we officially cut the ribbon and opened the doors to Lake Technical College South!

What started as a dream is now a reality, creating new opportunities for students throughout South Lake County and expanding access to the high-quality workforce training Lake Tech has provided for 60 years.

Thank you to our state and local leaders, community partners, faculty, staff, and everyone who helped make this day possible. We can’t wait to see the lives that will be changed within these walls!

Today we were honored to welcome Florida Department of Education Senior Chancellor Dr. Kevin O’Farrell to Lake Technical College’s Main Campus.

His visit provided an opportunity to showcase the incredible work taking place across our manufacturing, healthcare, and public safety programs while highlighting the hands-on, career-focused training that prepares our students for in-demand careers.

Dr. O’Farrell also toured our integrated HVAC program and had the chance to see, firsthand, the award-winning welding sculpture that earned Technical Excellence honors at this year’s statewide welding competition.

Thank you, Dr. O’Farrell, for taking the time to visit Lake Tech and for your continued support of workforce education across Florida.
