Professor Ian Savage recently contributed an op-ed to Pulse, Keolis' international thought leadership magazine, discussing the concept of the generalized cost of travel and what it means for the fare-free transit debate.

In the article, Professor Savage explains that while reducing fares can lower the cost of a trip, travelers also place significant value on factors such as travel time, reliability, waiting, transfers, and ease of access. These elements all influence how people choose to travel and can be just as important as the price of a ticket.
