“Digital change is a people problem.”
New technologies, no matter how efficient and groundbreaking, often face pushback in the workplace from employees who are reluctant to change. In a recent article for Inc., Professor David Schonthal says “soft skills” are the key to guiding employees through changes and successfully implementing new technology.
“The software was never the problem. Moving the humans was the problem,” he says. “It always is.”
Professor Schonthal encourages business leaders to learn and apply “soft skills” in these situations, claiming they are just as measurable, analytical and precise as those often considered “hard skills.”
