Hello, everyone! Firstly, we hope that you and your family are doing well and doing what you can to stay healthy during this difficult time. As the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is impacting lives all over the nation, NLVS stands to do our part to help and support the people affected by the pandemic.
New Life Volunteering Society (NLVS) is a non-profit Chicago-based organization with a mission to improve the lives of others through community service, education, and healthcare. In light of the protection measures necessary for COVID-19, the clinic operations have been temporarily suspended, but to remain dedicated to the community we serve, we have created a gofundme campaign to provide food and other essentials to those in need. On Thursday, November 7th from 1:30 to 3:30 PM, the Northwestern Undergraduate Chapter of New Life Volunteering Society will be taking a tour of Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. We will leave campus from the Intercampus shuttle stop at Foster (right in front of the pre-med advising office) at 12:47 PM and return on the intercampus shuttle that leaves Chicago at 3:35 PM and returns to Evanston at 4:14 PM. Please provide your information below if you are interested in participating. The tour group will be capped at 10 people, so sign up early to guarantee a spot in the group. This is your chance to get involved with leadership in a meaningful way and even early on in your Northwestern Career. It is so important that we receive more applications to put together a successful Chapter Board, so please consider applying! We are in the middle of some great programming that you can help to carry on into the next year, including our visits to Lincoln Park Community Services homeless shelter, fundraisers for the NLVS clinic, a survey at the clinic to inform undergrad involvement, visits to local elementary schools and retirement homes and more! This is true even if you haven't been highly involved in NLVS in the past-- there is always room for your help!
