Happy Tuesday! For this week's , we have a Lab Spotlight🤩 The Center on Media and Human Development in the School of Communication is directed by Dr. Ellen Wartella and was created with three primary goals: training, research, and public policy outreach. The Center is dedicated to training future researchers to conduct research in the field of human development and media. Through a team of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and affiliates, the center employs psychological, educational, and communication theories to investigate traditional media, such as television and advertising, as well as new media, such as social media and apps. Researchers explore a variety of topics like educational learning, social interactions, advertising, and health, within the intersection of children and media.

Director Ellen Wartella says, "My research lab is the Center on Media and Human Development and in this lab we do research at the nexus of public/social policy questions, child development and media studies. Our research is devoted to providing evidence regarding the role of media and technology in children's health and development to aid poilicymakers parents and care givers."
