During Mental Health Awareness Month, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. encourages open conversations, intentional self-care, and creating safe spaces where healing and honesty can exist. Mental wellness is just as important as physical health, and taking time to care for yourself is not a luxury, it’s necessary.

Whether you’re prioritizing rest, setting boundaries, seeking support, or simply taking things one day at a time, know that your journey is valid. You are not alone, and there is strength in reaching out and showing up for yourself and for others.

March was one for the books for the Evanston Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho! 💙💛

Our delegates had an amazing time representing DXS at the Central Region Conference in Milwaukee 🏙️✨—bringing back inspiration and sisterhood energy! We proudly celebrated our chapter soror for receiving the prestigious Ollie V. Green Humanitarian Award 🏆—a true testament to service and impact. Our undergraduate chapter also shined academically 📚✨, earning the highest GPA of small chapters—excellence in action!

Our Rhoers attended the Chicago chapter’s youth symposium, continued their commitment to service by giving back at C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue 🐾, and they stepped outside their comfort zones by exploring new cuisines together at Rotary Hot Pot in Skokie 🍲🥢. Shoutout to Rhoer Carter 🎧🔥 for representing our club while DJing both Delta Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Youth Symposium, Delta Sigma Theta’s (ENSA) “My Black Is Beautiful” Conference—showing true NPHC Affiliate unity! 🤝🏾✨

Meanwhile, our Rhosebuds hosted a beautiful ettiquette tea party ☕, and later in the month welcomed two new members into the fold—growing our youngest sisterhood at its finest!

Lastly, we also contributed snacks and treats to the Artis Yancey HBCU Tour & Experience for the Waukegan Township youth 2026 College trip 🎓

From performing alongside our lovely sorors to the north, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.- Mu Kappa Sigma Alumnae Chapter, at the Black History Month Gala at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, to volunteering at the Evanston Township High School African American Youth Achievement Awards…

To our Rhosebuds’ elegant Etiquette High Tea, our Rhoers’ fabulous Galentine’s, Eta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.’s Galentine’s Sip & Paint, a beautiful Sip & Paint for women interested in our Philo Affiliate, and lastly NPHC night at the bulls game — a time has truly been had in these Sigma streets!
