The Dean of Students Office was happy and excited to speak to students yesterday at the Student Involvement Fair. It is always nice to be able to get out onto the campus and have a little fun! Our table featured a spinning wheel to win various kinds of prizes and information about our office. It was good to see everyone and we can't wait to get out for next event soon!

The Dean of Students Office believes it is important for students to share a little encouragement with their fellow Screagles at the beginning of the semester. June Best of the Nest award winner: César Berríos Chavarría

César Berríos Chavarría, Assistant Dean of Students, has been named the June Best of the Nest award winner by the Administrative Senate!

His nominator stated, "César's impact on campus is felt most by the students who need support the most. One of his standout contributions is the development of the student pop-up food pantry, where he spearheaded the logistics to create a reliable resource for food-insecure students so they can focus on their coursework rather than their basic needs."

"He excels behind the scenes, bringing departments together so that student crisis responses feel seamless rather than bureaucratic. What truly sets César apart is his genuine care for the person behind a crisis. He takes the time to understand each student as an individual, making them feel valued and supported both personally and academically."
