Thank you to everyone that attended Flowers on the Lake today.

The ceremony is hosted by USI’s Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group annually to honor those who have lost their lives to domestic violence and raise awareness about the warning signs of relationship abuse. The ceremony began with students giving a brief presentation about lives that have been lost as a result of domestic violence alongside a poem. Following the presentation participants made their way to Reflection Lake where we gave a moment of silence before scattering flower petals on top of the water in honor of survivors and in memory of victims of domestic violence.

The event was sponsored by the USI Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group, Albion Fellows Bacon Center, and YMCA Evansville.

Dean of Students would like to once again thank the sponsors as well as everyone that attended today’s event.

Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Week | October 12–16

Be Someone They Can Turn To.

What would you do if a friend, roommate, teammate, or classmate told you something wasn't right in their relationship?

Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Week is an opportunity to move beyond awareness and learn practical ways to support the people around us. Throughout the week, students can learn to recognize when someone may need help, practice what to say when a friend opens up, and discover resources available on campus and in our community.

Be on the Lookout: New Semester, More Phishing Scams

As the semester is underway, cybercriminals are increasing their efforts to target college students through phishing emails, fake job offers, scholarship scams, honor society invitations, and account verification requests. If an email seems unexpected, suspicious, or too good to be true, take a moment to verify it before responding.

The Dean of Students Office had a wonderful time today on Constitution Day helping students make sure they are prepared to vote! Staff helped students check their voter registration and helped them register if they hadn't already done so.
