The October Manufacturing Month Roadshow rolls on!

Last week, we visited three area high schools for their college & career nights: Cascade High School, Lake Stevens High School, and Henry M. Jackson High School.

A huge thank you to the staff and administrators for having us -- and to all the students who stopped by our table to chat about short-term training opportunities at the AMSC/WATR Center. Seeing the next generation get excited about careers in aerospace, robotics, and construction is what it’s all about!

Last week, our 19th Construction pre-Apprenticeship Program (CAP) cohort officially graduated! 🎓

Eight weeks of intensive training, hard work, and skill-building brought them to this moment -- and they’re ready for the next step: launching their careers in construction.

And the work doesn't stop! Tomorrow, we welcome 10 new students to cohort #20. Stay tuned as we share their journey and celebrate our 5th anniversary!

The Creative Technology Program at the Advanced Manufacturing Skills Center (AMSC) is launching a brand-new slate of Online Self-Paced (OSP) courses starting October 12th!

Whether you're looking to build custom drones, design your own circuit boards, or dive into precision electronics, we've got hands-on, practical training designed for you:

Intro to UAV Tech (4 Weeks)
Build your own "Tiny Whoop" drone, master First-Person View (FPV) goggle flight, assemble electronics, and learn essential flight control principles.

SMD Soldering (3 Weeks)
Get confident working with Surface Mount Devices (SMD)! Learn equipment selection, PCB cleaning and wiring, safety habits, circuit testing, and microcontrollers.

PCB Design (4 Weeks)
Turn your circuit ideas into reality using KiCad. Learn schematic design, circuit simulation, PCB layouts, Ge**er file generation, and design for manufacturability.

Industrial UAV Systems (6 Weeks)
Take your drone expertise further with mid-sized FPV Racing/Freestyle systems! Cover ExpressLRS signaling, flight controller firmware, Blackbox logging, power management, and maintenance.
