Last month the Colony Clovers, a local 4-H chapter with the Mat-Su/Copper River district, taught 5th graders how to process and prepare turkeys for the table. What better way to understand where your food comes from than to learn how to do it yourself?

The Renewable Resources Extension Act (RREA) provides forestry and natural resource extension services at land-grant institutions, including the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Cooperative Extension Service.

Alaska has a lot of forest land that is stewarded by Native, state, federal, local and private entities. RREA helps provide information and communication amongst these different entities with the goal of sustaining productive and healthy forest systems in the state.
