Alaska Native Knowledge Network ANKN's physical location is Brooks Building at UAF.

The Alaska Native Knowledge Network (ANKN) is an AKRSI partner designed to serve as a resource for compiling and exchanging information related to Alaska Native knowledge systems and ways of knowing. It has been established to assist Native people, government agencies, educators and the general public in gaining access to the knowledge base that Alaska Natives have acquired through cumulative experience over millennia.

Deadline for Nominations is March 1, 2024

In recognition of Angayuqaq Oscar Kawagley's inimitable role in articulating the significance of Indigenous knowledge systems, ways of knowing and worldviews in the contemporary world, the Alaska Native Knowledge Network has established the AOK Indigenous Scholar Award in his honor. The Award will be presented annually to recognize and encourage Indigenous scholars who have made exemplary contributions to our understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems and Native ways of knowing in Alaska. Nominations of potential candidates, including background information, should be forwarded to the Alaska Native Knowledge Network at [email protected] or submitted online at https://forms.gle/iSd63xFWqDqMiDJg9 .
