We have reached over 300 participants, and are already learning about people's experiences. For instance, you may have heard popular media reports about people who had anxiety before the pandemic but are now feeling calmer and better DURING the pandemic. There are always individual differences, but the data from our first 200 participants (which included almost 50 with prior anxiety disorders or OCD), do NOT support this idea. Compared to other participants, those with prior anxiety/OCD reported that they had higher anxiety before the pandemic started, and then experienced an even GREATER increase in their anxiety, leaving them MUCH more anxious now.

If you haven't had participated, please consider doing so at the link below - the more people we hear from, the better our information. The first survey is LONG, we know! But you can do it in chunks - and once you finish that one, the surveys that come later are MUCH shorter and easier to complete. Please help us understand how people are coping during COVID-19!

The COVID-19 pandemic is changing the way everyone across the globe is living. In addition to physical health concerns, people are experiencing a range of psychological and interpersonal challenges.

The Anxiety, Stress, and Relationships Lab at George Mason University is conducting an online survey to learn more about these challenges, and what types of approaches are helping people cope. If you might have 30-60 mins (doesn’t have to be all at once!), please click below to learn more about the “Coping During COVID-19” study. Additional info can be found at www.copingduringcovid19.com

Also, please share this with your networks – the more people we hear from, the better the information we will have. Please stay safe and healthy!

Are you a U.S. military veteran? Do you know a U.S. military veteran? We are conducting a study to try to learn more about how to help improve the daily lives of U.S. veterans who might have difficulty adjusting to civilian life.

• Participation will involve completing one set of questionnaires, and potentially completing a short survey each night for one week.
• Participation in the study will be COMPLETELY CONFIDENTIAL.
• Surveys are all completed online.
• Initial questionnaires take 10-20 minutes.
• Nightly surveys take less than 5 minutes each night.
• Participants can earn an easy $10 for participating.

The information gained will be used to help improve existing resources and create new resources for service members with PTSD and other functioning difficulties.

These surveys are being conducted by Dr. Keith Renshaw and Ms. Lauren Paige in the Psychology Department at George Mason University. If you or another family member may be interested in this study please contact Dr. Renshaw’s Anxiety, Stress, and Relationships Lab at George Mason University for more information:
