Volition, formerly known as Apathy, is George Mason University's Undergraduate Creative Literature and Art Magazine. Voltion lives a life on the edge between boldness and creativity that cannot be found elsewhere on campus.
We publish poetry, prose, art, and photographs during the fall and spring semester and are always looking for talented artists to join our staff! If you're interested in working with us, please visit volition.gmu.edu
Getting published in Volition adds more than a publication onto your writers resume; it allows you to be a part of the growing literary movement on campus. You never know who reads literary magazines, don't allow the chance to put your work on display pass you by, it may become famous. Many of the artists and writers featured in Volition have gone on to continue to pursue careers in their fields.
Volition hosts open-mic nights two-three times per semester to allow writers and other performers to show their work and hear the work of other writers and performers in the GMU community. Not to mention free pizza and soda for all our starving artists.
